Freedom Glads Win World Cup!

Well actually FOUR Gladys' to be accurate......Gladys Fullshorts (joint Chief Organizer and Coach), Gladys Guff and Gladys Lightbody were part of the Aztec Parma team that won the womens competition in the IGLFA World Cup held in Chiswick, London between 4 and 11 August. Gladys Guff scored the second (winning) goal and was not only named Diva Player of the Tournament (check out the next issue for photos) but also shared the Golden Boot. Gladys Big Bird was part of the squad but had to content herself with bellowing from the sidelines after some bastard knocked her off her bike a week before the tournament. The head injuries she sustained could in part explain why she spent the entire game constantly exhorting anyone from Aztec Parma to "SHOOOOOOT" regardless of where they were on the pitch. As with any outwardly noble triumph there is a sordid underbelly which we at Gladys Central feel our duty to expose and ruthlessly tickle . When arrived at Chiswick on Saturday to watch the final there was one burning question on our lips. After we had enquired after the whereabouts of the food tent we turned our attention to the whereabouts of Gladys Manager. YES the same Gladys Manager who had dedicatedly turned up to every game throughout the week. YES the same Gladys Manager who had lovingly massaged her way through Aztec Parma's tightening muscles. YES the same Gladys Manager who had been there to squeeze the ketchup over her bird's [Gladys Fullshorts] daily burger intake. But where was she on The Glorious Day of The Final? Was she at the bedside of a dying relative? Was she discovering a cure for a terminal disease? Was she Working for World Peace? No, she was having her legs waxed in Birmingham.
